McDonald's Philippines, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines, and the City Government of Marikina celebrate the opening of the 57th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City, creating brighter beginnings for young learners and reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing early childhood education in Filipino communities.

Many Filipino parents face the daily challenge of balancing work and ensuring their children receive quality early childhood education. Monica Dela Cruz, a tricycle driver in Barangay Sto. As a mother of three in Marikina City, Niño understands this reality all too well.

Monica, the family's primary breadwinner, balances long hours on the road with caring for her children. This year, her family will celebrate another milestone as her three-year-old son begins preschool—a new chapter with new responsibilities and goals.

"For us at McDonald’s and RMHC, making a difference in communities, especially through education has and will always be part of who we are and what we do—from early childhood education, all the way to preparing students to be workforce ready.“ ~Marie Angeles, Executive Director of RMHC Philippines

Monica's story reflects the realities faced by many hardworking Filipino families, emphasizing the importance of accessible, community-based early childhood education.

Recognizing this need, McDonald's Philippines and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines officially opened the 57th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center on June 26, 2026, in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City. The learning center offers young children a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which they can develop foundational literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional skills that will prepare them for formal education.

"The opening of the Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center reflects our shared commitment to making quality early childhood education more accessible for every child. Ito po ay magiging daan upang mas marami pa sa ating mga kabataan ang magkaroon ng pagkakataong makatanggap ng dekalidad na edukasyon sa isang ligtas, maayos, at nurturing environment.” ~Mayor Marjorie Ann "Maan" Teodoro of Marikina City

The Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center represents another step forward in McDonald's and RMHC Philippines' ongoing commitment to increasing access to quality early childhood education in underserved communities across the country. With 57 Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers serving Filipino children across the country, McDonald's and RMHC continue to provide learning opportunities that help children develop, families thrive, and communities grow stronger.

"Malaki talaga ang pasasalamat ko sa McDonald’s Philippines at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines sa pagbigay ng Bahay Bulilit Learning Center sa Brgy. Sto Nino, sa Marikina sapagkat matitiyak kong makakatanggap ng tamang edukasyon ang aking bunsong anak.” ~For parents like Monica

As RMHC Philippines expands its network of 57 Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers across the country, the organization remains committed to its mission of providing children with quality early childhood education, empowering families, and strengthening communities—one learning center at a time.

Manila Water calls on customers to support August desludging program

Manila Water rolls out its August desludging schedule and encourages customers to take advantage of this essential service. By participating in regular desludging, customers become partners in protecting waterways, reducing pollution, and safeguarding public health in their communities.

Manila Water is encouraging customers in its East Zone concession area to take part in its scheduled August desludging activities, emphasizing the critical role that households play in protecting community health and waterways.

Customers can help prevent untreated wastewater from entering drainage systems, groundwater sources, and nearby waterways by desludging their septic tanks on a regular basis, lowering environmental and public health risks.

For this month of August, Manila Water desludging teams will be deployed in the following East Zone Barangays: Bagong Nayon, Sta. Cruz, and San Luis in Antipolo City; Baras and Jalajala in Rizal; Pila Pila in Binangonan; San Andres and San Isidro in Cainta; Santa Ana in Taytay; Caniogan, Santo Tomas, and Santolan in Pasig City; Malanday, Marikina Heights, Nangka, and Parang in Marikina City; San Isidro and San Jose in Montalban (Rodriguez); and Ampid 1 in San Mateo. The desludging teams will also be deployed to select accounts in Marilag, Botocan, San Vicente, Paligsahan, and San Martin de Porres in Quezon City.

“Every household that participates in desludging becomes a partner in protecting our waterways and safeguarding public health. By ensuring that septic tanks are regularly maintained, customers help prevent pollution and contribute to cleaner, healthier communities.” ~Dittie Galang, Manila Water Corporate Communications Group Head

Desludging refers to the removal of accumulated sludge and wastewater from septic tanks. The collected septage is transported to Manila Water's septage treatment facilities, where it is thoroughly treated before being safely discharged in accordance with environmental regulations. This process helps to reduce the pollutant load that would otherwise end up in rivers and creeks, which supports broader efforts to improve water quality throughout the East Zone.

Manila Water currently has three septage treatment plants that treat wastewater throughout its concession area. These include the North Septage Treatment Plant (SpTP) in San Mateo, Rizal; the South SpTP in FTI, Taguig; and the Pinugay SpTP in Antipolo, Rizal.

Customers in the scheduled service areas will receive advance notice from Manila Water personnel and are advised to ensure that their septic tanks are accessible on the day of the operation.

Manila Water's desludging service, which takes place every five years, is free of charge.

The program is part of the company's ongoing efforts to improve sanitation services and promote environmental sustainability in the East Zone.

GAC Philippines Introduces it's New MPV Family: Three Models, One Philosophy, Every Journey

GAC Philippines has officially introduced three new multipurpose vehicles in the country: the All-New GAC GN6, the GAC E8 HEV, and the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive.

The three models form the GAC MPV Family, a purpose-built lineup designed to provide unique, tailored comfort experiences for each user and journey. Moving beyond traditional single-category boundaries, the GAC MPV Family represents the true definition of a Multi-Purpose Vehicle, providing versatile mobility solutions for executive transit, premium passenger travel, and active personal lifestyles.

GAC refers to the three models as its MPV MVPs, reflecting the company’s established expertise and leadership in the segment. The lineup is:

  • Built on Trust, demonstrated by industry-leading residual value and a strong Quality, Durability, and Reliability foundation.

GAC introduces a unified lineup that caters to a wide range of lifestyles and business needs, combining practical utility, efficient hybrid performance, and flagship luxury.

One Philosophy: Comfort Starts with Confidence

At the center of the GAC MPV Family is a single guiding principle: true comfort begins with confidence. GAC’s commitment to delivering confidence-driven comfort is built on three foundational pillars:
  • Flexible Space: Intelligently engineered cabin layouts that adapt seamlessly to diverse passenger and cargo requirements.
  • Thoughtful Engineering: Purposeful features and invisible technologies designed entirely around real-world user demands.

This reflects our long-term commitment to offer vehicles for every user and every journey." ~Calvin Cheng, General Manager of GAC Philippines

The three models, which build on GAC's established leadership in the MPV segment, were designed around the core principles of flexible space, easy access, all-row comfort, dependable safety, and efficient performance.

"An MPV must do more than provide additional seating. It must be engineered around the people who use it, taking into account their comfort, safety, changing needs, and the many different journeys they take. With the All-New GN6, E8 HEV, and GN8 PHEV Executive, GAC brings together more than a decade of specialized MPV excellence to offer Filipino customers a clear choice tailored to their specific comfort expectations." ~Masato Katsumata, Chief Technology Officer of GAC International
