Tanduay Showcases New Reserve Rums in Whisky Live Event

Tanduay showcased its premium rums and provided attendees with unique collaborations and gashapon awards during its recent participation in Whisky Live Manila 2025, which was hosted at the Shangri-La The Fort in Bonifacio Global City.

“We wanted to bring new experiences to this year’s event by highlighting our soon-to-be-available Reserve Rums. We gave attendees a teaser of Tanduay’s latest premium products, and they were both well-received. Those who had a taste of the rums were impressed with its flavor and good quality. We see Whisky Live Manila as a good opportunity for brand exposure for Tanduay. We wanted to evoke curiosity and excitement for the brand, so that more people will learn about what it has to offer. We noticed that many people are into experiential drinking. They don’t settle for just one way of drinking but are always looking for other avenues to get a different vibe  from the usual experience. There were also a lot of younger attendees, many of whom were there to support their colleagues in the cocktail competition for young bartenders. ~Roy Kristoffer Sumang, International Business Development Manager of Tanduay

Tanduay's Reserve Rum Series comprises Tanduay Reserve Rum - 10 Years and Tanduay Reserve Rum - Overproof.  They are created from high-quality sugarcane, like with all Tanduay products.

Tanduay proudly manufactures all of its goods in the Philippines.  Tanduay has previously participated in Whisky Live Manila, the country's largest premiere whisky event.

Rum can be considered a close relative of whisky, as both are aged in barrels. Tanduay uses barrels that once contain bourbon whisky in aging its rums, giving them the rich character that people worldwide enjoy.

Cocktail Collaborations With the Industry’s Finest Mixologists

Apart from providing participants with a taste of its Reserve Rums, Tanduay also demonstrated the adaptability of its numerous products through its collaboration with the industry's finest mixologists.

On the first day of the two-day event, Alvaro Basilides, head bartender at Makati's Booze and Brews, made three unique Tanduay-infused cocktails.  These include the Suman Atbp, Evergreen, and Smokehouse.

On the second day, Joe Mari "Bhaj" Santos demonstrated the diversity of Tanduay rums.  A bar consultant at Salty for Coconut in Poblacion, Santos developed Barrio Fizzta, Golden Pine, and Rum Fashioned.

Those who stopped by the Tanduay booth also had the opportunity to win prizes from a gashapon.  Tanduay also brought a heat press machine so that customers could have the pouches they won personalized with their names and Tanduay stickers.

The Rise of Experiential Drinking and the Sober Curious

This year’s Whisky Live drew a large crowd as last year’s, with attendees showing keen interest in exploring the different expressions offered by the participating brands.

This year's event also drew the "sober curious" -- those who don't drink but are interested in the atmosphere and culture of a drinking session, according to Sumang.

Tanduay continues to demonstrate its evolution as a brand while remaining loyal to its beginnings by launching new Reserve Rums, collaborating with famous mixologists, and focusing on providing engaging experiences for new and old spirits fans, as well as the sober curious.

Tanduay products and merchandise can be purchased via www.shots.ph. They are also available on Shopee and Lazada.

McDonald's Celebrates McSpicy Fans With The Launch of a New Twist: The Honey Mustard McSpicy

McDonald's Philippines introduces the Honey Mustard McSpicy, a fresh spin on a beloved staple.  This latest innovation, which combines the trademark spice and crunch of the now-available original McSpicy with a tangy-sweet twist, demonstrates McDonald's dedication to expanding its menu with new, interesting flavors.

The Honey Mustard McSpicy preserves everything that lovers of the original enjoy -- the crunch, the juiciness, and the distinct kick of spice -- while also introducing a fascinating new taste.  Instead of the creamy mayo in the original, this limited-time version is topped with a silky amber-yellow honey mustard dressing flecked with visible spice particles that add a pleasantly salty, spicy finish.  It's a marriage that hits all the perfect notes: hot, sweet, and completely appealing.

“The McSpicy has always held a special place in our customers’ hearts. With the Honey Mustard McSpicy, we wanted to surprise fans with something familiar yet refreshingly new — keeping the signature spiciness they love while adding a sweet twist that makes every bite even more exciting and flavorful.” ~Ashley Santillan-Delgado, McDonald’s Philippines Marketing Director

The Honey Mustard McSpicy is a limited-time product available in all McDonald's restaurants nationwide beginning October 29, 2025.  Along with the original version, it is available for dine-in, take-out, drive-thru, and delivery.

McDonald's capitalizes on the excitement today, introducing the Honey Mustard McSpicy, giving fans not just a comeback but also an improvement to the renowned burger.

McSpicy Hall of Flame

The introduction of the new Honey Mustard McSpicy and the return of the legendary McSpicy are McDonald’s Philippines’ ways of celebrating their customers. And to further reward their loyalty to the McSpicy, McDonald’s inducted five of the most loyal die-hard fans to the McSpicy Hall of Flame, “a (digital) wall of legends for the ultimate McSpicy fans...where the boldest, hottest, most loyal fans get their spot in McDonald’s history.” First batch of awardees include Jae Acosta (dubbed “Day One Devotee”), Kaye Lantoria (dubbed “Lunch Break Loyalist”), Joyce Avelino (dubbed “Faithful McSpicy Seeker”), Migi Rivera (dubbed “Consistent Commitment King”), and Joanne So (dubbed “Enlightened Spice Convert”).

McDonald’s also organized the McSpicy Challenge in some of its branches in Quezon City. Fans competed to eat a McSpicy Sandwich in record time without any drinks. Dubbed “Speedy Spice Slayers,” these fans were also inducted in the McSpicy Hall of Flamers: Christian Castillo (45 seconds), Joey Basbas (45 seconds), Mark Desamito, Jr. (1 minute 7 seconds), Khen Maichele Mendoza (1 minute 9 seconds), Mark Abulo (2 minutes 3 seconds), and content creator Papi Louie (2 minutes 6 seconds).

McDonald’s Philippines is still looking for additional fans to include in the McSpicy Hall of Flames. McSpicy fans with proven loyalty and fandom and affinity for the heat of McSpicy may stay tuned in McDonald’s Philippines social media pages for announcements on how to be included in the next batch of Hall of Flamers.

Beyond Money: InLife Retirement Index shows what Filipinos need to prepare for retirement

This is far from ideal because retirement entails more than simply having enough money to go through one's senior years.  Retirement preparation is determined by a combination of six interrelated factors: life stage, personal finances, health, pension program membership, retirement sentiment, and social support.

This was the primary takeaway from the first-ever Retirement Index, created by InLife, the largest Filipino life insurance, as a comprehensive assessment of retirement preparedness. InLife developed the Index using a multi-method study approach that comprised integrated research, expert interviews with economists and psychologists, and survey data from a 1,000-person online quantitative survey aged 18 to 59.  Scores were calibrated on a 0-100 scale to facilitate interpretation.

“The Retirement Index shows us that Filipinos need to see retirement in a new light. It’s not just a financial milestone. It’s an emotional, social, and even cultural journey. If we only focus on money, we miss out on the other pillars that make retirement truly secure and meaningful. These data clearly indicate that retirement readiness requires conversation. Families, communities, and institutions must normalize talking about retirement. At InLife, that is what we are doing because we want our fellow Filipinos to be aware, more confident, and prepared so they can retire without worries. InLife, at 115 years old, continues to find solutions to Filipinos’ most pressing concerns. We are committed to empowering our fellowmen across generations so they can enjoy A Lifetime for Good. ~Gae L. Martinez, InLife Chief Marketing Officer

Among the key findings from the InLife Retirement Index survey are:
  • Generation X scored the highest at 54, owing to their life stage. At this time, they are more mature, have more stable income, and are breadwinners, or married with dependents, which naturally require increased knowledge of financial planning. Younger, single, or childless individuals show significantly lower retirement preparedness with Gen Z scoring the lowest at 36. However, Gen Z, together with young millennials reported having clear plans about their future though they have yet to translate these into concrete retirement plans.
  • Insurance, investment ownership, and emergency preparedness boost retirement readiness. InLife policyholders scored significantly higher at 62 compared to non-policyholders who scored 42. Investment-oriented segments such as millennials, married individuals, and those with small families showed greater retirement preparedness as they built passive income streams, demonstrating long-term financial planning. In contrast, younger generations and single individuals who also support other family members face greater financial strain, and as a result, lower retirement preparedness.
  • Filipinos who are retirement ready are also more prepared for health emergencies. With chronic health conditions becoming rampant as one ages, it is important to have a separate fund for health concerns.
  • Pension program coverage is concentrated among married individuals and parents, leaving informal workers and singles vulnerable. With more Filipinos in the informal work sector, such as independent contractors, participation in state-sponsored pension plans such as SSS and GSIS is lower. Therefore, they are exposed to retirement and health risks in the future.
  • Filipinos who scored high on the retirement index had strong social support underscoring the emotional and social dimensions that drive engagement in retirement planning.
  • Women averaged 45 compared to men’s 49, highlighting gender disparity when it comes to retirement, with more men having full-time formal employment and investments.

To assist Filipinos in planning their retirement, InLife offers Retire Assure, the country's first true retirement insurance policy.  Retire Assure guarantees a monthly income from age 60 or 65 until age 100.  It is payed over a five- or ten-year period, or until the age of 59 or 64, depending on desire.   It is further bolstered by cash dividends, which have the ability to grow over time to keep up with rising living costs.

Retire Assure 2, its 2-pay counterpart, is designed for persons who are reaching senior positions in their careers and choose long-term stability over market-driven uncertainty. It is meant for persons aged 48 to 73 and is paid in two annual installments. The insured will get a monthly income until they reach the age of 100, at which point the second payment is made. When the insured dies, the beneficiaries receive either the guaranteed cash value or 110% of the premiums paid (minus any prior payouts), whichever is greater.

Earlier this year, InLife released its retirement research titled "Retire Without Worries: Your Roadmap to Living Life to the Fullest." The paper emphasized the critical need for retirement planning in light of rising healthcare costs, longer life expectancy, and changing family structures, all of which make older Filipinos financially vulnerable.  It underlined the significance of thoughtful planning and proper support systems while facing the risk of outliving one's savings.

Community at the Core

True to its objective of delivering gaming to everyone, Infinix lighted up the event with participatory community activities that celebrated both fans and pros.

One of the weekend's highlights was the XLABAN Showmatch, which included gaming personalities Cherizawa and Jayat, as well as MPL PH commentators Athena and Uomi.  Fans banded together with their favorite MLBB stars to establish Team #CheriNa and Team #JayMi.  The battles were filled with laughter, friendship, and memorable plays that demonstrated how gaming brings people together regardless of ability level.  After a thrilling set of games, #Team JayMi emerged victorious.

The excitement continued with FANSIKLABAN Season 3, where community teams battled it out in an intense showdown of skill and teamwork. Team A and Team B faced off in the finals, proving that passion and collaboration are the true keys to victory in the Filipino gaming community.

Taho Story and Uratex Dream Win Red Bull Half Court National Title, Prepare for Dubai World Final in November

The Red Bull Half floor National Finals lit up the floor, finishing off an incredible Philippine tour with top-tier teams from Davao, Cebu, and Manila joining WildCards for a one-day, all-or-nothing 3-on-3 basketball war.

On October 25, 2025, at Parqal in Aseana City, the country's fiercest 3-on-3 squads unleashed electrifying plays under Red Bull Half Court's high-octane rulebook, vying for glory.  With a 12-second shot clock and games capped at 10 minutes or first to 21 points, every possession was important, necessitating rapid decision-making, tight defense, and swift execution.

But the National Final was more than simply a tournament; it was a full-fledged streetball festival.  MC Pao Avila hosted the event, which he helped elevate with his knowledge and charisma.  The Philippine All Stars wowed the audience with a high-energy dance performance, while Stance Philippines arrived with a sleek Street Car Showcase, complete with unique cars.  Furthermore, the HoopJeep cooperation brought a mobile court, bringing streetball culture to life.  Fans participated by organizing their own contests.  Similarly, the Dunk Competition was judged on innovation and sheer wow factor.  The Two-Point Shootout featured sharpshooters firing clutch shots in a 60-second frenzy, lighting up the sidelines with each swish.  These moments represented the event's distinct combination of basketball, culture, and community spirit.

Taho Story showed unrelenting hustle and razor-sharp accuracy, battling through a fierce elimination gauntlet to defeat Fit' N' Grind in a crucial 9-5 battle and earn the men's national championship.

Taho Story explained that their game plan throughout the tournament was to focus on defense and make sure that everyone knew their job on the field.

As they prepare for the World Finals in Dubai, the squad expressed pride and resolve to demonstrate the heart and battling spirit of Filipino basketball players.  The team expressed gratitude and inspiration to their fellow Filipinos.  The women's team, Uratex Dream, dominated the women's bracket, defeating rival team Uratex Tibay in a heart-pounding, down-to-the-wire final, 22-8.

Even if one of us makes a mistake, we motivate each other to keep focused in the game. It’s overwhelming—for us to be representing the country. It’s a good opportunity for us to improve our 3x3 game. Keep on supporting us, it will for sure motivate us to keep bringing our A-game against other teams.” ~said another member

GameZone Donates ₱1 Million for various Charity

GameZone Merchandise and Models

GameZone, one of the Philippines' leading PVP entertainment platforms, has once again demonstrated that enjoyment can coexist with purpose.  During the "Swing for Filipino Sports Dream" Music Festival, GameZone partnered with the BingoPlus Foundation and gave ₱1 million to promote various philanthropic efforts nationwide.

This collaboration exemplifies GameZone's philosophy of building Ganda via giving—turning pleasure and competition into a force for good.  The ₱1 million donation will support projects that improve communities and help Filipinos in need, including education, youth care, and community development.

Awarding of Shared Contribution of  BingoPlus and GameZone From left to right (Jasper Vicencio, Board of trustees member of BingoPlus Foundation, Sisidlan workers, Angela Camin-Wineke, BingoPlus Foundation Executive Director)

GameZone promoted several issues through its online channels, raising awareness and encouraging public participation.  From poignant remarks exchanged online to the enthusiasm of those who visited the Aseana Music Festival, which featured performances by Alan Walker, Apl.de.Ap, Bamboo, and many others, the campaign encouraged solidarity and the spirit of bayanihan in Filipino gamers and music enthusiasts alike.

The event concluded in a night of celebration, representing months of planning, collaboration, and compassion—proof that true success comes not only from accomplishment but also from giving back.

BingoPlus Foundation continues its objective to reach neglected communities, while GameZone strengthens its commitment to collaborating with groups who share a same purpose of assisting people.  Together, both organizations demonstrate that beauty is not just found in the games we play, but also in the lives we touch.

As GameZone proudly carries its banner of “Ganda ng GameZone,” it reminds everyone that being ma-Ganda means being responsible, generous, and compassionate—using every opportunity to create a positive impact on the Filipino people.

At GameZone, we believe gaming should always be fun, fair, and responsible. We encourage our community to play for enjoyment, not as a source of income. Gambling is not an acceptable way of livelihood, and it does not solve financial problems. To learn more about GameZone’s initiatives, visit gzone.ph.
