On December 1, 2024, the eagerly awaited McDonald's Stripes Run 2024 came to an unprecedented close at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. With an incredible 11,000 participants, the 13th edition of this family fun run saw the highest attendance in its history.
The McDonald's Stripes Run has been a celebration of fitness, friendship, and family since its inception in 2010. By raising ₱1 million for the Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers, which offer secure and caring environments for kids in underprivileged areas, this year's event carried on its tradition of supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
McDonald's Philippines credits a robust digital outreach strategy and ongoing innovation for the event's record-breaking attendance.
"The McDonald’s Stripes Run has built a loyal following over the years, but we’ve also worked hard to keep it fresh and exciting. This year, we leveraged social media, engaged with schools and fitness groups, and partnered with pet communities to create a truly inclusive event. The inclusion of the Fur Stripes category reflects McDonald’s broader commitment to creating feel-good moments. It’s a way to make the event more inclusive, family-friendly, and meaningful, while celebrating the special bond between humans and their pets. The long-term goal of Bahay Bulilit is to give every child access to quality early learning opportunities, regardless of their background. By participating in the Stripes Run, families are not only strengthening their bonds but also contributing to this important cause.”~Adi Timbol-Hernandez, McDonald’s Philippines Assistant Vice President for Corporate Relations and Impact and Vice President of RMHC Philippines
The Fur Stripes category, which enables runners to run with their furry friends, is one of the event's most well-received additions. This year, 500 fur babies joined in the fun, filling the category to capacity. In order to promote inclusivity and acknowledge pets as a vital component of family bonding, McDonald's created this special category.
The Agoncillo Family (Ryan, Judy Ann, and Luna), KaladKaren, Angeline Quinto, Ysabel Ortega, Barbie Forteza, and David Licauco were among the well-known celebrities who attended, which increased the excitement. Their presence boosted the crowd's energy levels and demonstrated how appealing the event is to a wide range of age groups.
More Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers will be established across the country with the money raised from the Stripes Run. While their parents are at work, these centers offer secure environments for kids to grow, learn, and play.
The much malaki, much juicier, much crispier, and much sulit Chicken McDo is becoming increasingly popular among Filipinos! SB19, the P-Pop phenomenon, has now joined the cause and declared, "Atin 'to!for the improved and upgraded Chicken McDo that has a mouthwatering flavor.
The quick service restaurant's newest endorsers are superstars-to-be: SB19 members Pablo (John Paulo Nase), Ken (Felip Jhon Suson), Stell (Stellvester Ajero), Josh (Josh Cullen Santos), and Justin (Justin De Dios). This announcement marks the beginning of an exciting partnership.
Being the first act from the Philippines and Southeast Asia to receive a nomination in the Billboard Music Awards' Top Social Artist category, SB19 made a name for themselves. They now emulate the unkaboggable Vice Ganda, who assisted McDonald's in the highly successful relaunch of Chicken McDo last year. More recently, Chicken McDo—which went viral for its enormous, "dinosaur-size" portions—was the subject of a musical extravaganza featuring Marian Rivera, the Kapuso royalty, and Dingdong Dantes.
“We’re ecstatic to welcome SB19 to the McDonald’s Philippines family. To have this supergroup join us in showing love for our much bigger, much juicier, much crispier and much sulit Chicken McDo is very exciting. It’s a great collaboration, and we look forward to working with SB19 in delivering more feel-good moments to our customers all over the country. Definitely, there’s much more to look forward to in this campaign.”~Adi Timbol-Hernandez, McDonald’s Philippines’ Assistant Vice President for Corporate Relations and Impact
A few days prior to the announcement, McDonald's Philippines teased their next endorser on social media, teasing a new “Ninang.”A'tin, the devoted followers of SB19, surmised right away that it was the impending endorsement. Soon after, the band's love for Chicken McDo was showcased in an exclusive video for A'tin. The video encouraged the band's fans to try the song and adopt it as their own.
The star of the show is McDonald's one-piece Chicken McDo Sulit Busog Meal, available in all McDonald's restaurants nationwide for just Php99 and including rice and a drink. SB19 fans will undoubtedly have something to look forward to when their favorite band joins the thousands of people who have discovered the new and improved Chicken McDo.

Meet the Agonsulits: The Squad That Eats Together, Stacks Savings Together
with McDelivery
Every day becomes a #SavingsGoals celebration in the Agoncillo home, where the living is smart and the vibes are laid back. Ryan and Judy Ann are joined by their daughter Luna. A family known as the "Agonsulits" demonstrates to us that being thrifty need not be a drag. It's all about living big without going over budget and demonstrating that you can stay true to your values while making stylish yet affordable decisions.
Imagine spending some time with your family and the great outdoors while lounging by a serene lakeside. Nothing fancy, just some quality time spent the old-fashioned way. That is the fashion of Agonsulit. And in terms of do-at-home tricks? Ryan is an expert at it. Ryan didn't go to the dentist right away when little Luna had a wiggly tooth, as evidenced by a recent viral post. Nope, he simply pulled out some dental floss and turned the dentist gently, demonstrating that sometimes the simplest—and least expensive—solutions are the best ones.
Public transportation is a mobile classroom as well as a means of transportation. According to Judy Ann, Yohan, their oldest daughter, learns life lessons not only in lecture halls but also on buses and jeepneys, where she discovers the truth about money and the daily routines of the average person. This is more than just useful to the Agonsulits; it's a means of maintaining a sense of identity and rootedness.
The topic of money is never off the table in the Agoncillo household. Ryan and Judy Ann ensure that everyone understands how money works and why saving is important by having honest conversations about cash flow. It's about laying the groundwork for a bright and safe future, where everyone benefits from every decision made together.
"We believe in being smart with our resources, which means finding quality options that are also affordable. Wais kaming mag-asawa pagdating sa pamilya. Gusto namin mataas na kalidad at murang-mura para sulit. Kaya nga Agonsulit di, ba? (We're wise when it comes to family spending. We want high quality for low cost because that’s what makes it worthwhile. That’s why they call us Agonsulit, right?). Malaking ginhawa ang experience namin sa McDelivery. Sulit talaga! (The experience we have with McDelivery is truly comforting. It’s really worth it!). It’s not just about ordering food; it’s about the convenience, variety, and affordability that it brings to our family's table. Teaching our kids to budget through apps like McDelivery makes money management relatable and real.” ~Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo
McDelivery is their go-to food when the munchies strike because it offers big flavors without the big price tag. "McDelivery isn't just quick food; it's smart eating. It's about getting our favorite meals without the guilt," says Judy Ann, a chef with keen insight. The app is a mainstay on their phones, full of offers that keep every meal interesting and affordable.
Level up your hangout game the Agonsulit way with the McDelivery App. Movie night magic happens with the Chicken McNuggets Family Bundle (Php599), composed of 20 McNuggets, BFF fries, and three Coke Floats. Feeding the whole squad? The Chicken McShare Family Bundle (Php799) brings the feast with chicken, spaghetti, and Coke floats, making sure no one’s left hungry. As the country continues to follow quarantine guidelines and people continue to adapt to new behaviors, McDonald’s Philippines has been taking strides in ensuring the safety of their customers, while prioritizing the health and safety of their employees.
With the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) eyeing resumption of dine-in for more restaurants by June 15, McDonald’s has elevated its standards and measures for people safety, sanitation and cleanliness for its customers and employees, as well as for food safety.
“Quality, service, value and cleanliness have always been integral parts of McDonald's culture. These have guided us throughout the years of providing delicious food and feel good moments for Filipino communities. Now that we welcome everyone back to our stores for dine-in, we make sure to leverage this constant commitment as we elevate and strengthen our existing measures for the uncompromised safety of our people and our customers. It is important for us to ensure the safety and health of our employees so they keep customers safe and continue to deliver quality service to our customers.” ~Kenneth S. Yang, President and Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s Philippines
Keeping employees safe so customers stay safe
For McDonald’s, customer satisfaction and safety begins with guaranteeing that their employees’ safety is prioritized. Since the quarantine period, not only has the company raised the standards for food safety, service and cleanliness, McDonald’s has also taken extra steps in supporting their employees’ health and safety.
To ensure that they are fit to work, store crew are required to regularly submit a health declaration form and a fit to work clearance if they experienced any sickness, whether or not related to the virus. Daily health checks are conducted, as well as temperature checks before and after their shift.

Being locked up at home during this community quarantine may not be the most ideal of situations, but looking at the bright side, it has given us the opportunity to spend more time with our families. These moments together make us realize that there’s much more to discover about each other, especially our mothers.
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the quirky and unique things that set our mothers apart, as we get to know more about them over shared moments at home, and as we discover that there are always more reasons to love them.
Na-lockdown tayo, Ma. McDonald’s Mother’s Day video this year opens our eyes to the often unseen side of our mothers, which many of us are getting to know with the almost 24-hour confinement brought about by the current situation. For many, it’s a pleasant surprise to realize the stark realization of our mothers leading their own lives—beyond what they do for the family. Now is the time to pay even closer attention to them, and to put in that extra effort of appreciating them for all that they do.
“We sometimes forget that mothers also have other personal interests, hobbies, or roles aside from being ‘mom’. They can be gamers, tech experts, artists, movie buffs, Kdrama addicts— we don’t really know because how caught up we are on our own daily lives. Here at McDonald’s, we hope for families to bond even more, embracing every moment as an opportunity to appreciate our mothers - quirks and all.”~Ollie Rabatan, Marketing Head of McDonald’s Philippines
