AirAsia Philippines launches #AlwaysREADY Ngayong Semana Santa 2025 campaign for peak holiday travel

AirAsia Philippines has activated its #AlwaysREADY Ngayong Semana Santa 2025 to provide a seamless and safe travel experience for all clients between April 13 and 20, 2025.

Transportation Security Administrator Undersecretary Arthur Bisnar, together with AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla and Spokesperson Steve Dailisan, led an inspection of the airline's check-in counters to review preparations for the expected increase of passengers. As part of the campaign, the crew also handed out Santan Summer drinks to departing passengers at NAIA Terminal 3.

In addition, AirAsia Philippines has implemented a new power bank policy in accordance with AirAsia Aviation Group's newly issued rules, which are currently being reviewed and approved by the Philippine Civil Aviation Authority.

"It's become a tradition for us, here at AirAsia, to provide additional support during peak travel times, especially when families, friends reunite and observe religious tradition. While we know the importance of staying connected during this time, we are also raising awareness amongst guests on the need for vigilance in proper handling and storage of power banks during their travels.” ~First Officer Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head

AirAsia advises passengers that power banks with a capacity of 100 watt-hours (Wh) or less are permitted on board.  Devices with capacities ranging from 100Wh to 160Wh require airline certification at the check-in counter.  AirAsia power bank safety standards are available on official AirAsia social media accounts, the AirAsia Newsroom and  AskBo on the AirAsia MOVE app.

On-board Summer Menu

Coinciding with the busy Holy Week travel period, AirAsia Philippines is bringing summer onboard with the launch of its Santan Summer Menu, featuring the viral Halo-Halo Drink available for pre-booking at only Php 150.

Starting April 22, domestic travelers can take advantage of the PHP150 Value Combo Snack Deal, which includes light nibbles like Pain au Chocolat or Cheese Puffs matched with Santan drinks.  Guests can also upgrade to the best-selling Santan Coconut Latte or try new flavors like Raspberry Lychee Jasmine Tea (PHP140) and Fizzy Raspberry Lychee (PHP150) for a pleasant mid-flight beverage.

Meanwhile, to guarantee a smooth voyage, AirAsia recommends that travelers come at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before foreign departures, as check-in counters open 2 hours ahead of CAB restrictions.

To avoid long queues, guests without checked baggage are encouraged to use self-check-in kiosks. For added convenience, travelers can opt for the Value Pack Lite bundle which includes 20kg of checked baggage and seat selection starting at just Php 660 per flight. For a smooth travel experience, passengers are also advised to review the latest baggage guidelines and list of restricted items here.

TAI-WANT to see cherry blossoms in full bloom? Fly to Taiwan hassle-free with AirAsia Philippines!

With cherry blossom season in full swing and Taiwan's cool weather enticing more travelers, AirAsia Philippines expects a significant increase in both passenger traffic and forward bookings in the first quarter of 2025.

From January to March 2025, AirAsia Philippines flew 90% of the total passengers to Taiwan in Q1 2024, demonstrating the strong and growing demand for Taiwan tourism this year.

AirAsia Philippines operates twice-daily flights from Manila to Taipei and three weekly flights to Kaohsiung, ensuring convenient and affordable travel for Filipinos eager to see Taiwan's stunning cherry blossoms, which typically bloom from early April.

Best Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Taiwan

According to the Taiwan Tourism Administration website, one of the best places to see the beautiful cherry blossoms is the Sanzhi Cherry Blossom Trail, a 70-kilometer stretch of industrial roads in Sanzhi lined with over 15,000 cherry trees, mostly of the indigenous Taiwan Cherry variety.  During peak season, the mountains turn into a stunning sea of red, white, and pink blooms, making Sanzhi one of Taiwan's most popular cherry blossom destinations.

"Travel bookings consistently surge as winter begins, with demand remaining strong right through January and February—Taiwan’s peak cold season. It’s that time of the year where our guests are taking full advantage of the refreshing weather, and we’re here to make their journeys seamless and affordable for this special occasion. We want our guests to come back not just with photos, but with stories that are truly priceless - and that’s something we’re incredibly proud to be part of." ~Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer

AirAsia's dedication to providing exceptional value and service has earned it the prestigious title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for 2025 by AirlineRatings.com. Since 2018, AirlineRatings.com has consistently ranked AirAsia as one of the world's best low-cost airlines.

Recognitions like this remind us that our true focus will always be on evolving and finding new ways to deliver the best for our valued stakeholders from providing low fares, exceptional route network, and commitment to safety to maintaining a seven-star safety rating.” ~Ricky Isla, AirAsia Philippines CEO

Since its start in 2001 with just two aircraft, AirAsia has carried over 800 million guests and expanded its reach to over 130 destinations. In 2024, it carried 63 million passengers with an impressive 89% load factor, bolstered by a growing fleet of 205 aircraft.
