SM Center Sangandaan Offers 7,971 Job Vacancies Ahead of Christmas Season

A weekend job fair at SM Center Sangandaan brought together 726 applicants and participating employers, resulting in 150 job seekers being hired on the spot as businesses increased recruitment efforts ahead of the Christmas season.

The event, held at the mall’s third-floor area, offered more than 7,971 employment opportunities across several sectors, including retail, hospitality, logistics, and business services.

Among the available positions were sales associates, customer service representatives, warehouse workers, administrative employees, and management personnel, giving job seekers a broad selection of career opportunities.

The recruitment activity came as companies prepared for the anticipated rise in customer traffic and business operations during the holiday period. For many businesses, the Christmas season brings increased demand, creating a need for additional employees and expanded workforce capacity.

SM Center Sangandaan Assistant Mall Manager Roma Bautista said the mall worked with participating employers to help bridge the gap between job seekers and companies looking for additional workers as the holiday season approaches.

According to her, the SM Center Sangandaan job fair went beyond addressing companies’ immediate recruitment requirements. It also aimed to connect job seekers with opportunities that could provide long-term employment, career development, and professional growth.

The employment event demonstrated how community job fairs can serve as an important link between businesses and job seekers, particularly during periods when companies are expanding their workforce to meet increased demand during the holiday shopping season.

Based on preliminary figures, 150 job seekers secured employment during the job fair, while hundreds more were given the opportunity to apply for various positions offered by participating employers.
