Fitness and Strength Celebrated as Anytime Fitness brings back Battle of the Purple Champions



Battle of the Purple Champions, Anytime Fitness' much-anticipated strength competition, returned on August 25, igniting the spirit of community and strength once again. The occasion showcased the talents of its community members across the nation and celebrated the best in health and fitness. With challenges based on real-world situations, this year's competition offered something new and challenged competitors to go beyond standard training regimens.

Samuel Diones, John Kenneth Solonia, Danilo M. Quirabo Jr., Tristan Ivan Melgarejo, and Dexter Ansaldo were the winners of Team Anytime Fitness Ecoland Davao. With this triumph, they have now won three straight championships; they have also won in 2018 and 2019. In an astounding time of seven minutes and eighteen seconds, the team secured the victory.




Team Anytime Fitness Bacoor finished the course in 8 minutes and 44 seconds to take second place. Team Anytime Fitness Mall of Asia finished in 9 minutes and 2 seconds to take third place.


Strength in Teamwork
“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to compete again and proud to be champions. This event reminded us that anyone can be a champion if they work hard and persevere. Our journey shows that dedication pays off. To be a champion, you need discipline and consistency in your workouts. We didn’t become champions overnight; it took patience and hard work. It was not an easy feat for Team Ecoland Davao to win the title. During the qualifying rounds, every team had to put in a lot of work to get through the challenges in the shortest amount of time. Collaboration, concentration, and clear communication were essential for the champions to succeed.

The members of the team hope that their triumph encourages people to lead active lifestyles and serves as a constant reminder that anyone can succeed anywhere, at any time.


A Unique Comeback

The Battle of the Purple Champions this year took a fresh tack by transforming routine tasks into enjoyable, health-focused competitions. With the cutting-edge equipment available from Anytime Fitness, participants engaged in creative tasks and pushed their limits.

Inspired by the landmark of moving houses, the competition began with a Moving Day challenge. Teams had to lift and arrange furniture in a shuffled room according to a predetermined layout.

The Sandbag Shuffle tested the strength of teams' upper, lower, and core muscles as they maneuvered through obstacles while toting five sandbags on a sled.

Teams had to alternate between stationary biking and high jumps on a plyometric box, combining endurance and explosive power, as part of the Bike Race challenge, which recognized the growing trend of biking in the Philippines.

In the last task, known as the Champion's Climb, competitors carried kettlebells as they raced up and down a staircase, simulating the strength needed for travel.

Although Team Ecoland Davao emerged as the champions, every team exemplified the event’s core message that “real life never stops.”

Through DHL Express's GoGreen Plus service, Brother Industries (Philippines), Inc. and DHL Express have partnered to strengthen their commitment to lowering greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Brother can cut its annual GHG emissions related to international parcels by 30% by utilizing this service, the book, and the claim methodology.

PCPPI partners with LLDA, Sto. Tomas, Batangas LGU for Adopt-A-River Program

A Memorandum of Agreement was recently signed by Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI), the exclusive producer and distributor of PepsiCo beverages in the nation, with the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) and the local government of Sto. As part of the company's long-term environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments, Tomas, Batangas for the Adopt-A-River Program.

In order to maintain the cleanliness and lack of impediments in the Dipangla Creek, PCPPI's Southern Tagalog Region Operations (STRO) team will strengthen community engagement and sanitation initiatives. The 300 meters of the aforementioned creek are in Brgy. Next to the STRO plant in Sto, San Miguel. Tomas.

PCPPI will see to it that team members are deployed once a week to handle solid waste collection, project area maintenance, and upkeep. Along the river stream, it will also keep an eye on the weekly cleaning schedule, the removal of overgrown vegetation, and the gathering of accumulated residual and non-residual trash. In addition, PCPPI will install vertical gardens in support of the National Greening Program in the Dipangla Creek watershed. 

PCPPI STRO has been actively supporting various environmental initiatives headed by LLDA and the Sto, in addition to the Adopt-A-River Program. Tomas LGU across time. When the San Juan River was traversing Brgy in September 2021, STRO helped the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) with its cleanup efforts. San Vicente. 

In July 2022, STRO took part in the National Arbor Day Tree Planting Activity of the Sto to commemorate PCPPI's anniversary. A Certificate of Appreciation for the donation of 200 narra tree seedlines was also given to the plant by Tomas CENRO. Furthermore, STRO provided backing for CENRO's "Operasyon Linis Ilog" initiative, which was held in June 2023 to commemorate Philippine Environment Month.
