The celebration at the City of Firsts begins with enchanting decorations throughout its malls. Traditional Chinese arches will greet visitors at Gateway Malls 1 and 2, Ali Mall, and Farmers Plaza. The Quantum Skyview at Gateway Mall 2 will be centered on a stunning effigy representing the spirit of the Wood Snake.

A Horoscope Exhibit at Gateway Malls 1 and 2 and Farmers Plaza will provide insight into the zodiac predictions for 2025, including advice on love, career, health, and luck. Visitors can view interactive displays highlighting the strengths and opportunities of each Chinese zodiac sign.


Exciting Festivities

On January 28 and 29, Araneta City's Lunar New Year celebrations will be brought to life with traditional Dragon and Lion Dance performances that will spread dynamic energy and drive away negativity in preparation for prosperity.

On January 29, the Chinese New Year festivities begin in full swing at all Araneta City malls. Visitors to Gateway Mall 2 can enjoy a Chinese Acrobats Show, a cultural performance by students from the Philippine Chung Hua School, a Tarot Card Reading session, and a photo booth. Shoppers can look forward to special Chinese New Year treats on January 29. Customers who spend ₱1,500 at Araneta City malls can receive a free snake plant representing resilience and prosperity, as well as a free tarot reading at Gateway Mall 2 or Ali Mall.

Araneta City has unveiled a lineup of exciting events for this year's Grandparents' Day celebration on September 8, which aims to honor some of the most significant family members while highlighting the happiness that comes from spending time with those we cherish most. 


Avail fab healthy treats at Farmers Plaza

The ideal place to spend a day treating our grandparents well and promoting their health is Farmers Plaza. To make sure our cherished grandparents are well and in good health, Araneta City will host a Grand Health Day on September 8th, offering free medical services like blood pressure checks and consultations.

This day also holds a special treat for granny! Our grandmothers are eligible to participate in the Granny Makeover and receive free services from our participating outlets with just a P500 minimum purchase at any Araneta City store. 


Show off strategic skills at Gateway Mall

With an entrance fee of just ₱50 (with free food or drink), you can harken back to the days of the legendary Fiesta Carnival with rides like the Carousel, Boat Pool, Jurassic Adventures, and so much more. 
 
After an afternoon at the Mini Fiesta Carnival, have your fill of some of your favorite dishes and snack items at the Food Park. You have a wide selection of delicious dishes inspired by different cuisines from all over the world. And to make your feast a bit more picturesque, you can share a meal under the famous Giant Christmas Tree of Araneta City.
 
The Mini Fiesta Carnival is open daily from 2PM to 11PM. 
 

Appreciate the true story of Christmas at the Grand COD
 



Another highlight of the Filipino Christmas is spending an evening watching the Grand Christmas on Display (COD) that has been a fixture at the City of Firsts since our youth. This year, COD is once again featuring life-sized animatronic puppets that tell the marvelous tale of the Nativity.
 
The Grand COD is also located inside the Mini Fiesta Carnival. The Grand COD show runs daily from 6PM to 11PM until January 8, 2023.

The Grand Fireworks Display has been a beloved Holiday tradition at the City of Firsts, and this year, we will once again

light up the night in different hues in celebration of the Yuletide Season. The Grand Fireworks Display happens all Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays of December at exactly 7PM. To get the best view of the fireworks display, you can watch it from the Mini Fiesta Carnival. 
 

Do some last-minute holiday decor shopping
 


Aside from partaking in all the aforementioned fun activities, you can also squeeze in a bit of last-minute holiday decor shopping. Whether you’re searching for Holiday baubles, glittery tinsel, a grand Christmas tree, or the traditional parol, you can find it at the Parolan located in Farmers Garden. Araneta City brings the magic of Christmas to life with Giant Christmas Tree Lighting




The City of Firsts has officially signaled the beginning of its holiday celebration with the lighting of its iconic Giant Christmas Tree on November 11.

Decked with dazzling lights, colorful ornaments, and glittering tinsels, the Giant Christmas Tree situated at the Times Square Food Park in Araneta City was lit up in a grand celebration attended by local government officials, senior company executives, celebrities, and patrons with the theme ‘Believe in the Magic of Christmas’.

“We made sure to light up our Giant Christmas Tree in time for 11.11, which tradition says is a special date when anything you wish for can come true. It’s also our way of welcoming the return of our guests to the City of Firsts now that quarantine restrictions are starting to loosen up a bit. Even though we’re now welcoming guests of all ages, we’re still making it a point that all of our customers are safe through the health and safety measures that we’ve put in place.” ~Marjorie Go, AVP for Marketing of Araneta Group

This year’s event highlights a mix of virtual and online celebrity performances and performances, with strict health and safety measures implemented onsite. A pre-show was also held virtually hosted by DJ Onse, and several lucky viewers got to take home some exciting prizes from the virtual games.




This year’s Giant Christmas Tree Lighting event was graced by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and prominent stars like Piolo Pascual, Maymay Entrata, AC Bonifacio, and Reiven Umali (Tawag ng Tanghalan 5 Champion). Also present were Ms. Intercontinental 2021 Cinderella Obeñita, Bb. Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2021 Samantha Panlilio, Bb. Pilipinas 2021 First Runner-up Gabrielle Basiano, Bb. Pilipinas 2021 Second Runner-up Meiji Cruz, and Binibining Araneta City 2021 Francesca Taruc. 

The lighting of Araneta City’s Giant Christmas Tree has been a fixture of every Filipino Christmas celebration for the past four decades. And as this year’s event carves a year-long milestone in the country, the Araneta Group made sure to celebrate the Giant Christmas Tree spectacle in a big way!

As part of this year’s Christmas celebration, the Araneta Group organized the ‘40 Treats for 40’ program, wherein 40 individuals received special gifts from the company. These individuals are essential workers who worked tirelessly even at the height of the pandemic.

Araneta City ensures safety measures as stores reopen on May 20

Sanitation is essential in combating COVID-19. Knowing this, the Araneta City management will continue to sanitize and disinfect all of its spaces, especially those that are frequented by customers such as washrooms.
The management of Araneta City has announced the reopening of its  three malls- Gateway Mall, Ali Mall and Farmers Plaza-  starting Wednesday, May 20,  in accordance with the resumption of most businesses in Metro Manila under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) regulations set up by the Covid-19 Inter Agency Task Force (IATF).
 
For the safety of customers and employees, established Covid-19 rules and regulations will be   followed such as “no face mask, no entry”, the requirement of presenting a quarantine pass or authorized company ID upon entry, temperature checks at entrances, minimum one meter social distancing, two steps between persons on escalators, limited elevator capacity, among other regulations.
 
For pregnant women, the elderly, and PWDs, they may be accompanied by one person when visiting any of the malls of Araneta City.

Other measures that have already been in place at Araneta City since the declaration of enhanced community quarantine will continue to be implemented such as the placement of disinfectant-soaked foot baths and alcohol dispensers at entrances, hand sanitizers and alcohol dispensers located in concierge, booths, and restrooms, and floor markings for social distancing. Regular sanitation and disinfection of interiors and exteriors of Araneta City establishments will also be maintained.

Food and other service establishments are mandated to follow workplace safety guidelines promulgated by the Department of Health and the Department of Labor and Employment to ensure the safety of customers and service providers.
 

To ensure the health of customers and employees, the Araneta City management will continue the regular sanitation and disinfection of all interior and exterior establishments within its premises, as shown in this photo.

For the information of the general public, safety guidelines such as advisories and infographics will be posted in prominent areas in the malls, especially at entrances, parking and smoking areas, escalators, elevators, and restrooms.
 
Mall hours will be from 11 AM to 7PM and only non-leisure stores and establishments will open as per the guidance set by the IATF. A complete list of open stores and establishments is available on facebook.com/AranetaCity.
