Once again, the City of Firsts is going above and beyond to make Grandparents' Day even more enjoyable for lolo, lola, and the entire family! Araneta City goes back in time this weekend to recreate the iconic "70s vibe" and make everyone feel upbeat and groovy. 

Araneta City has unveiled a lineup of exciting events for this year's Grandparents' Day celebration on September 8, which aims to honor some of the most significant family members while highlighting the happiness that comes from spending time with those we cherish most. 

Avail fab healthy treats at Farmers Plaza

The ideal place to spend a day treating our grandparents well and promoting their health is Farmers Plaza. To make sure our cherished grandparents are well and in good health, Araneta City will host a Grand Health Day on September 8th, offering free medical services like blood pressure checks and consultations.

This day also holds a special treat for granny! Our grandmothers are eligible to participate in the Granny Makeover and receive free services from our participating outlets with just a P500 minimum purchase at any Araneta City store. 

Show off strategic skills at Gateway Mall

On September 8, lolo and other family members can demonstrate their chess prowess at the Grand Chess Day competition at Gateway Mall. Anyone can join the game by simply making a minimum purchase of ₱500 at any Araneta City store. 

Shake it, groove it at Gateway Mall 2

The '70s Groove Dancing Event is about to get down! Everyone is welcome to groove to various sets of music every hour at the Quantum Skyview beginning at 10 AM on September 8. Please wear your most outrageous retro costumes, as tickets to the movies will be awarded to the most fortunate participants.

The vibes will continue at Gateway Mall 2 in the evening with busker performances at The Lagoon. Families and grandparents can enjoy dinner and relive the legendary '70s era while dancing to soulful tunes and ending the evening with a groovy instructor.

Create good vibes at Ali Mall

Ali Mall will host the Paint-A-S.I.L.Y.A. for a sweet moment of bonding. September 8th event. Together, grandparents and their grandchildren will paint vibrant rocking chairs to commemorate their relationship.

Visitors can leave love notes on the mall's dedication wall and take a picture at the photo booth to preserve this special day and make it even more memorable.

Enjoy treats from citywide promos

There are more special prizes and giveaways in honor of lolo and lola. On September 8, grandparents who make a minimum purchase of ₱2,000 from any Araneta City store will receive a customized Grandparents' Day umbrella. In addition, those born in 1954 – the year Araneta City was established  –  will be treated to an additional gift: a commemorative Grandparents' Day mug!

There’s also the Pose like my Lolo and Lola online contest. Netizens just need to upload pictures of themselves with their grandparents wearing ‘70s-inspired attire until September 8. Use the hashtags #GrannyRocks70sAtAranetaCity, #AranetaCity, #AranetaAt70, and #CityOfFirsts for the event and tag Araneta City's Facebook page in your posts after that. Two lucky winners will be chosen to receive free accommodation stay at the ibis Styles Hotel.
