Globe prepares for restoration efforts as power failure causes network outages in several sites due to ‘Kristine’



21 provinces in Southern Luzon and the Visayas have experienced network outages due to commercial power failure brought on by Tropical Storm Kristine. Globe is prepared to send teams for immediate restoration efforts as soon as the situation on the ground improves.

Less than 13% of sites in Southern Luzon experienced outages, compared to roughly 7% of sites throughout the Visayas. Most sites' network and core services are up and running, and Globe promises to give restoration efforts top priority as soon as possible.


Call, text, and data services are currently affected by power outages in parts of the following provinces:

   Cavite
   Laguna
   Quezon
Region IV-B (MIMAROPA)
   Marinduque
   Occidental Mindoro
   Oriental Mindoro
   Palawan
   Romblon
Region V (Bicol Region)
   Albay
   Camarines Norte
   Camarines Sur
   Catanduanes
   Masbate
   Sorsogon
Region VIII (Eastern Visayas)

Connectivity Support

Globe has offered connectivity support to customers in impacted areas to help affected families deal with the storm's effects. Customers of Globe Prepaid and TM are eligible for free unlimited calls and texts to all networks, as well as 100MB of data for all websites and apps and an additional 100MB for social media apps. These benefits are available for a single day.

GFiber Prepaid customers received a three-day promo extension, while eligible Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi users received a complimentary five gigabytes of data, valid for three days. In the meantime, customers of Globe Postpaid and GFiber Postpaid now have longer deadlines.

Globe is ready to deploy Libreng Tawang, Libreng Charging and Libreng WiFi sites in severely hit areas to support critical relief and recovery efforts.

Globe also calls on its customers to support relief efforts by donating their Globe Rewards points via the GlobeOne app.
