Indie-pop band Joe & The Anchor started out as an indie rock band in 2014, releasing several albums and singles. In 2018 they decided to start over and switch gears to writing contemporary pop music. With a strong visual style and modern production, Joe & The Anchor delivers energetic guitar-driven pop, defining themselves as a promising act on the Swedish pop scene.

Joe & The Anchor release new piano ballad ‘Leaving You Now’ - an emotional break-up song about experiencing first love, to grow apart and realizing there is nothing left in the relationship worth fighting for. The singer Joakim's powerful yet emotional voice goes straight to the heart.

The single is the second one from their upcoming album ‘Coming of Age’ which explores the feelings of growing up, the fragility of life, love, and taking things for granted. Following a difficult few month when the band members had to experience the harsh reality of loss, Joe & The Anchor decided to process the events through music.

Joe & The Anchor drops new single ‘So Bad’

 

The Swedish dream pop band Joe & The Anchor are after one year of waiting finally back with new vibrating music - So Bad. So Bad is the first song to be released from the band since their debut EP Antidote last year. An uplifting track with electronic trap influences that captures the feeling of holding your head high even when life is challenging, a motto that has formed the band while they’ve stayed together through the ups and downs of life.

The quote also reflects how hard the friends Joakim Rosenlund, Robin Zhang, Viktor Edsjö and Ruben Sonesson work for their success. In addition to their musical expression they attach great importance to their visual style, making all the material themselves.

 

During their years of being active JATA has been able to explore several different genres, play around Sweden and perform as supporting act for Mando Diao – all of which has formed them into a strong live band with a unique musical style. With their colorful sound, uplifting lyrics and powerful vocals, Joe & The Anchor invites the listeners into their dreamlike world.
