Prestone conducts “Anak ng Mekaniko Scholarship Program” pocket events in Antipolo, Makati/Pasay

PRESTONE, a leading innovator of cutting-edge coolants, brake fluid, and motor oils, recently conducted the initial leg of pocket events for its Anak ng Mekaniko Scholarship Program.

The said pocket events were held at the Max’s Restaurant in Antipolo City and at the Aurum One Hotel in Makati City, respectively. Both events gathered more than a hundred local auto mechanics from the province of Rizal, as well as Pasay and Makati.

“We are conducting these pocket events to reach as many mechanics as possible to let them know about our scholarship program. The grant is our way of giving back to our local auto mechanics, who have journeyed with us through the years in our mission to drive safety and security for drivers and their families.” said Monique Gonzales, brand manager of PRESTONE

During the activity, they presented the application process and received entries of the nationwide search for the nine recipients of Anak ng Mekaniko Scholarship Program.

In line with its 90th year anniversary, PRESTONE initiated this advocacy to pay tribute to the local auto mechanics who are the unsung heroes of the automotive industry by giving their son or daughter the chance to earn a tertiary level education.

During the pocket events, PRESTONE also conducted its Certification Program for the attendees, which entitles them to get product discounts and freebies. The brand also formally unveiled its new PRESTONE Motor Oil line through a product orientation.

“Our pocket events serve as a venue not just to inform our mechanics about the scholarship program but also to give them an extra knowledge about the applications of PRESTONE products, especially our new motor oils, which will come handy whenever they fix their customer’s vehicles,” said Lawrence Rodriguez, technical consultant of PRESTONE.

The Anak Ng Mekaniko Scholarship Program is open to all high school graduates, graduating senior high school students, passers of Alternative Learning System (ALS) or Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT), as well as for those individuals who want to go back and complete their college education.

All the nine ANAK NG MEKANIKO Scholars will be granted a full scholarship for a four-year course of their choice in any STI Colleges branch, nationwide. Aside from the tuition fees, the grant also includes stipends, as well as allowances for books and uniforms.

Entries are now accepted until February 15, 2018. These can be submitted through the upcoming pocket event legs, which will be held in Quezon City, Tacloban, and Davao.
