Coke Studio Season 2 Homecoming featuring amazing line up of local and International Artist

Finding home with music and a bottle of Coke
Coke Studio returns with an amazing line up of local and international artists

September 1, 2018 – There are many things that make us feel at home - laughing and spending quality time with our favorite people, munching on our go-to comfort food along with a refreshing drink, or even listening to a song that brings back precious memories.

When we return to where we feel valued and accepted, when we’re reunited with the things and the people we love, when we look gratefully at our past experiences both good and bad, and when we remember the passions that inspire us, we come home.

These unique instances are our own moments of homecoming. When we recall a special moment, the memory comes with a tune that was playing in the background, a lyric that stood out, a beat that fit the mood, and sometimes even a Coke in hand.

With the perfect jam playing and a bottle of Coca-Cola, simple moments with our friends and family become more fun, more memorable and more uplifting.

Now, music and Coca-Cola come together once more to give young music lovers and Original Pinoy Music (OPM) artists a new home at Coke Studio Homecoming.

In line with the Company’s thrust to empower the youth, Coca-Cola tapped into young Filipinos’ love for music through Coke Studio PH in 2017. Coke Studio PH became a haven where the diversity of OPM was celebrated.

This year, Coca-Cola connects to Filipino teens once again as Coke Studio PH returns to make them feel at home with the familiar sounds of OPM, giving them an avenue to show their love and support for local music.

For its second season, Coke Studio PH also further establishes itself as a hub of Pinoy talent, as it introduces a stellar lineup of local and international Filipino artists across various genres.

While the previous season brought together veteran artists and budding musicians, Coke Studio Homecoming calls Filipino artists who have shared their talents to the world to return to their roots and bridges them with homegrown talents who have yet to stand on the international stage.

From this colorful mix of talented Filipino singers and bands, Coke Studio Homecoming will feature groundbreaking, new collaborations between artists, as well as unique renditions of their original songs.

Coke Ambassadors will also find their way back home this season, as Coke Studio Homecoming features familiar faces, including the brand’s most memorable endorsers and Coke Studio artists from the first season.

“We received such an overwhelming response during the first season of Coke Studio PH and this really inspired us to work harder this second season and explore ways to take it further. Last year, Coke Studio became a home for OPM and now we want to continue and strengthen that legacy, making sure that the younger generation and the new lineup of artists can feel that same sense of belonging,” said Stephan Czypionka, Coca-Cola Philippines Vice President for Marketing.

While uniting teens through music, Coca-Cola takes it a step further by enabling them to do their part for a greater cause. This year, Coca-Cola announced an industry-first goal to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can it sells globally by 2030—a goal in line with the Company’s vision of a World Without Waste. This is why during all Coke Studio events, Coca-Cola encourages teens to deposit their PET bottles in designated recycling bins.  The Coke Studio TuneCycle, a stationary bicycle that also grinds PET bottles, will also be a staple in Coke Studio events. These ground PET bottles will later on be turned into eco-bricks.

Coca-Cola will reveal its exciting lineup of artists at the Coke Studio Homecoming Launch last September 1, 2018 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. There’s plenty more in store so stay tuned and let the sounds of OPM call you home!

After the successful launch last year, Coke Studio returns again to bring the best Original Pinoy Music with featured collaboration from a local and international artist that will surely enjoy by music lover while drinking their favorite drink.

At the time Coke started the famous "hugot lines" it becomes phenomenal and embedded in the life of many Filipinos. Up to now, we like to use it in posting our social media to express our feelings.

 What is Coke Studio?
COKE STUDIO is a musical show that has been rocking the world for the past 11 years. It’s a musical phenomenon that spans across 16 countries, starting in Pakistan back in 2007. It came to Philippine shores last 2017 with the goal of promoting Original Pilipino Music; Coke wants to put OPM back in the spotlight where it belongs by supporting Filipino artists, giving them a platform where they can showcase their world-class talents. Likewise, it’s a program that Coke launched to connect with the teen market, as music in particular, is a passion point for them. Coke wants to be part of their DNA by providing the soundtrack to their lives,

What is the tagline?
Taste the Sounds of Pinoy Music
Very simply, the line combines what the entire program is all about— Coke’s refreshing, uplifting taste, coupled with Coke Studio’s goal of promoting OPM

What is Season 2’s theme?
Homecoming.
Every episode expounds on what it means to come home, with the narrative focusing on the artists’ stories and how the theme is relevant to them—whether home is a place, a person, or a memory from their past. It’s not just about going back to a location in a geographical sense; home may be a feeling where they feel most like themselves. The original songs per episode will reflect the different interpretations of what Homecoming means.

What is the show structure?
Every episode will feature 2 artists who will be paired up. Over the span of several days, they will hang out and get to know each other better—what makes the other person tick? What’s their story? Who are their musical inspirations? What does Homecoming mean to them on a personal level? They will then take these shared experiences and collaborate on an original composition about a particular facet of Homecoming. Expect mash-ups, covers and surprises throughout the season.

What’s in store for season 2?
Coke Studio will premiere on September 16 on ABS-CBN at 11:15 AM and via YouTube (YT.com/CokeStudioPH) It has 7 episodes, each featuring 2 OPM artists paired up. Though the 13 acts will be revealed early on, 1 surprise artist remains, to be revealed on Ep. 7, November 18. There will also be a Highlights episode on November 4, and a Christmas special on December 2 where the Coke Studio Christmas song will be unveiled.

What else is there to look forward to?
The Coke Studio experience will be brought closer to the audience via roadshows that will visit schools in Manila and the provinces. It’s a chance to see the Coke Studio artists up close and for free! Games, booths and other surprises will also be set-up so more people can taste the sounds of Pinoy music. There will also be promos with our partners where teens can win premium Coke Studio swag, access to exclusive online content and of course, free Coke! To cap off season 2, a Christmas concert will be held, featuring most of the artist line-up. Get ready, Coke Studio: Homecoming promises to be the ultimate OPM odyssey!
