The Legacy Wall Exhibit Honoring Dra. Fe Del Mundo

August 13, 2018 @ Dr. Fe Del Mundo Medical Center - We witnessed the formal unveiling of Dr. Fe Del Mundo legacy wall showcasing his past achievements during her time and up to present her legacy continues to strive for the institution’s core values of Excellence, Compassion, Community Relevance, Integrity, and Teamwork. As part of their commitment to Dra. Del Mundo’s legacy of care, the leaders, doctors, nurses and healthcare specialists at Fe del Mundo Medical Center have dedicated themselves to the service of the community.

Since it started to manage the operations of Fe del Mundo Medical Center in 2013, Mount Grace Hospitals, Inc. has committed to honor its distinguished founder by carrying on her legacy of compassionate care.

A multi-awarded pediatrician, Dr. Fe del Mundo was the first woman and first Asian to study at the Harvard Medical School. In 1941, she helped care for the children of foreign soldiers detained at the internment camp of the University of Santo Tomas. She became known as the “Angel of Santo Tomas” for her humanitarian efforts. 

In 1957, Dr. Del Mundo founded the Children’s Medical Center which in 2002 was renamed Fe del Mundo Medical Center in her honor. 

Today, Fe del Mundo Medical Center is a modern, revitalized community hospital with highly competent doctors, nurses and healthcare experts ready to render multi-specialty medical services to patients of all ages. 

An affiliate of United Laboratories, Inc., Mount Grace is a network of hospitals specializing in the facilitation of patient access to medical services through its presence in key urban areas nationwide.

In recent years, the joint efforts of Mount Grace and Fe del Mundo Medical Center have resulted in an ongoing modernization program that includes systems and processes improvement, facility upgrades and medical services expansion.

Fe del Mundo Medical Center unveils the Legacy Wall, which pays tribute to the hospital’s revered founder. The distinguished guests of honor include Ms. Elisa Bengzon, Chairperson of the Dr. Fe Del Mundo Center Foundation Phils. Inc., and officials of Mt. Grace Hospitals, Inc. led by its Chief Operating Officer Mr. Rhais Gamboa.
