Mondelez Philippines stands for Diversity and Inclusion

While the world has changed much, sadly many forms of inequality still exist around the world. As recent events in other countries and even locally have shown, achieving equality in all forms is everyone’s responsibility and requires action from all of us. This could be as simple as starting your own community pantry or extending support to charitable organizations. This belief in making an impact in your own community has spurred snacks company Mondelez Philippines to strengthen its own diversity and inclusion commitments.
“Guided by our Purpose, Mission, and Values, we strive to promote diversity and inclusion for our colleagues, culture, and communities. Like our well-loved snack brands Tang and Eden cheese, we encourage not only acts of playfulness but also inspire acts of generosity and take a stand on issues that matter. We choose to believe we are stronger through our diverse, inclusive, and connected community; to do what’s right and treat everyone with integrity, and to foster a culture of belonging.” ~Aileen Aumentado, People Lead of Mondelez Philippines
Three pillars drive the Company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. These are ColleaguesCulture, and Community. For Colleagues this means ensuring the diversity of employees, to represent the customers and consumers the Company serves. In the Philippines, this translates to creating a full candidate slate for new positions. Candidates to be interviewed for a job opening must include women and applicants from different schools and work backgrounds. This means choosing the right person for the job, not for who they are or where they come from.
“As our name suggests, “Invisible” refers to urban poor women who are unable to participate in the formal economy, and the waste materials from landfills and waterways. As both are deemed unseen by society, Invisible Sisters recognizes these as opportunities to create positive changes. It is through this craft that they are provided with a livelihood that boosts self-confidence and gives a sense of self-worth. Invisible does not bring people work. We bring jobs to people who cannot work. We work around the edges, outside of traditional factories, and labor markets giving real skills to otherwise unemployable women, enabling them to manage their time and life needs.” ~Deseree Mangulabnan, Program Director of Invisible Sisters

For Culture, the Company aims to create an inclusive, bias-free, and equitable workplace in which all colleagues can be themselves and achieve their full potential. Women empowerment is a core focus of the Company. It works to empower women through career development opportunities as well as flexible work policies, which allow them the ability to balance work and life commitments. Regardless of gender, marital status, or role, all employees enjoy this flexible working policy, work-from-home policy, and career development opportunities. In the Philippines, the Company’s Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) benefits have also been expanded since 2017. This entitles health coverage not only for married couples but also for domestic partners of all genders.

Under Community, the Company aims to drive economic inclusion for underrepresented communities.  Locally this has been done for the past 10 years through the Joy Schools program, a school adoption initiative that supports underprivileged public elementary school students. Since 2011 the program has adopted 19 schools nationwide and reached 25,000 students. More recently, the Company has partnered with Invisible Sisters, an organization that works with underprivileged women by enabling their skills to design high-quality, sustainable, and handcrafted products out of waste materials. This work allows them to create transformative change in and out of their environment.

Invisible Sisters contributes to Filipino ingenuity, design, and craftsmanship through the art of crochet and knitting of plastic waste. For their small partnership to create recycled home items, 37.5 kilos of plastic were recycled and 15 women provided with income.

It is Mondelez Philippines’ and Invisible Sisters’ belief that we are stronger through our diverse, inclusive, and connected community. Where everyone is recognized, included, and move together towards growth.

The company shares new commitments for colleagues, culture, and communities.

‘ALPAS’ digital concert

Get ready for a night of soaring anthems and classic sing-alongs as kumu live and GNN hold a virtual concert featuring some of the finest Filipino singer-songwriters of all time.

Dubbed ALPAS, the digital show not only aims to bring live performances for the streaming public but also promises music fans to experience a semblance of ‘concert’ normalcy in an intimate, stripped-down setting. The six music acts are also set to perform as a group in a special medley number arranged and produced by award-winning musical director, Ronaldo Tomas.

Renowned alternative/pop-rock/folk icons Aia de LeonBarbie AlmalbisKitchie NadalEbe DancelJohnoy Danao, and Bullet Dumas mark their first time to co-headline a show together, performing as both solo artists and collaborators.
“I’m excited to work with the artists that I admire in the music industry. It’s an opportunity that I wouldn’t want to miss. I’m more than happy to share the stage with the artists that I look up to, and hopefully, the energy and enthusiasm would resonate with the music fans once they see it on the virtual screen. It’s something that we’ve worked hard for.” ~Barbie Almalbis

With new security and health protocols in place, the virtual showcase will be shot at the outdoor area of Conspiracy Garden Café, an iconic music venue that is home to several music greats and independent bands, and in Madrid, Spain where Kitchie Nadal is currently based.

As expected, Nadal is excited to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime collaboration and has all the great words to say about the upcoming online show. Barbie Almalbis explains that this is as close to playing for a live audience and that performing in Conspiracy again makes her feel nostalgic.

Aia, Barbie, and Kitchie (ABK) have staged sold-out, collaborative concerts at the Music Museum in 2016 and 2017, and held a benefit online show in 2020 to raise funds for the employees of indie music venues in Metro Manila. Ebe, Johnoy, and Bullet (3D) on the other hand, have performed as 3D, and went on to headline three, sold-out concerts: twice at the Music Museum in 2015 and 2016, and at the Kia Theatre in 2018. These concerts were organized and produced by GNN.

Bullet Dumas admits that he missed performing and that ALPAS came at the right time when everyone needs a source of entertainment to keep them going while public life is on lockdown.

“I haven't performed in an actual show since early pandemic. People in the live events industry are barely surviving, so this opportunity from KUMU and GNN means a lot to me. And I know how a simple show can move people especially in this crazy era of our lives.” ~Bullet Dumas

Johnoy Danao admits that this is the very first time since 2020 that 3D will be reunited together, and he wouldn’t want to miss it for the world. He’s also looking forward to working with Aia, Barbie, and Kitchie on this special project.

“It’ll be the first time that all of us are performing together, so I think that’s something to look forward to.” ~Johnoy Danao

When asked about what makes ALPAS worth watching despite the lack of an actual “live” audience, Aia De Leon takes pride in what the virtual concert stands for especially in the time of the pandemic.

“ALPAS is your connection to something real. When the songs hit home, this is your connection to the memory as well as the future promise of the live gig experience.” ~Aia De Leon

Ebe Dancel echoes Aia’s sentiments, stressing the importance of music in forging a sense of community amidst the most challenging of times.

“People, in my opinion, will always need music. As much as we miss the live audience, this will have to do for now. Someday, somehow, we will all see each other again.” ~Ebe Dancel

ALPAS: A Digital Concert is set to premiere on June 5, 2021, from 6pm onwards. Tickets to ALPAS are now available for purchase via Kumu, with a price of P499 for general admission. For details on how to buy tickets, go to this site: www.kumu.live.

Valueplus and Jandusay & Sons open VPX Batangas City

The newly built facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art Wheel Alignment system from Hunter Engineering, Lifters, Computer scanner and operates with a world-class shop management system from Canada.

Brothers John Alvin Jandusay and Jet Martell Jandusay, along with their father Hanniel, had first started thinking about putting up a business in 2018 and came across ValuePlus online.

With high hopes for the rest of the year, as the country bounces back from the pandemic, Value Plus Auto Service Express (VPX), the franchising brand of Value Plus Auto Services Philippines Inc., forges ahead with its first franchise expansion in Batangas City.
“We were considering several different types of businesses. But we got to thinking, ‘Why should we go for the common? Let’s be different! As car enthusiasts themselves, the family decided to partner with VPX and franchise their own “casa alternative.” ~John Alvin, the 24-year-old branch manager of VPX Batangas City
Established in 2013, VPX is an after-market auto service that’s dedicated to helping millions of drivers across the metro with their automotive concerns. With the official opening of VPX Batangas City, VPX proudly welcomes to its family Jandusay and Sons, its newest ValuePlus franchisee-partners.

With the opening of VPX Batangas City, last May 26, 2021, ValuePlus now has 4 branches in its franchising program, two of which are in Metro Manila.

The VPX franchise is one of the most competitive businesses in the industry, shares VPX General Manager Mark Saberola.
“ValuePlus is founded on a sound business model that’s been proven to be crisis-proof. Despite the pandemic, all our branches have thrived. With our newly introduced Starter Package, ranging from P4.5M-P7M, franchisees can have their very own auto repair shop up and running in 2 to 3 months’ time. We assure our partners that ValuePlus will guide them every step of the way. Though we are an almost decade-old brand and our systems are well-established, we still work closely with our franchisees to ensure that we provide the direction and assistance they need in building up their business. We want to help them achieve their dream; their success is our success, too.” ~Mark Saberola, VPX General Manager

Batangueños come out in full support of the opening of the first “Casa Alternative” in the city with local government officials and eminent members of the community throwing their weights behind this new venture.
The family-owned VPX Batangas City branch, located along Batangas-Tabangao-Lobo Road in Barangay Libjo, officially opened its 300-sqm repair shop this second quarter and is ready to cater to the needs of drivers in this part of South Luzon. VPX Batangas City enters the market at the most opportune time, with more Filipinos relying on private transportation to stay safe from COVID-19.

To date, according to Saberola, around 3.5 million cars are no longer covered by their manufacturer’s warranty. And thus, car owners seek trusted auto repair service providers for their vehicles’ needs.
“While there may be many other auto repair shop franchises, the unique advantage of ValuePlus is the quality of their work and the expertise of the personnel. From the managers to the technicians, they are all very professional and skilled. They know exactly how to fix your cars. The training was very thorough, and the management was very hands on during the training. All our questions and concerns were addressed, so now we’re more knowledgeable about the workflow. You can’t learn a business in just 30 days, but with the help of VPX management, we felt more secure and confident. Partnering up with them was definitely the best decision!” ~Jet Martell Jandusay
As first-time franchisees, Jandusay and Sons found great confidence in VPX, especially as they were guided by management through numerous trainings to further learn the ropes of the business.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is attended by (from left to right) Mr. Normann Chiu, President of ValuePlus, Mr. Jett Martel Jandusay, Operations Manager of VPX Batangas City, Mrs. Menjie Jandusay, Treasurer of VPX Batangas City, Mr. John Alvin Jandusay, Branch Manager of VPX Batangas City, Mr. Mark Saberola, General Manager of ValuePlus and Mr. Richmann Uy, Chief Financial Officer of ValuePlus.

If you would like to start your own casa and need a full-proof plan to achieve it, VPX is here to help! ValuePlus is not just a provider of auto repair services, but a complete business solutions provider. Inquire today.

WalterMart Supermarket partners with Mayani to support local farmers and uplift communities

To strengthen its agricultural supply chain while relieving the plight of our local farmers, WalterMart Supermarket – one of the biggest supermarket chains in the Philippines, launches Palengke Fresh with Mayani, the fastest-growing farm-to-table digital platform.

Through this program, WalterMart will procure directly from Mayani’s network of over 12,000 smallholder farmers to provide fresher produce with a better value to all its shoppers.

“Our commitment to the communities and our customers is to win through malasakit from farm to market. Malasakit to ensure a sustainable income for our farmers during this pandemic through Mayani, malasakit to our customers by providing them quality and affordable fresh produce assortment, and malasakit to employees by making our proud local ambassadors of fresh and healthy products.” ~Rose Caalam, General Manager of WalterMart Supermarket

WalterMart has been helping various farmers cooperatives and associations since the roll-out of Palengke Fresh in 2019. Given WalterMart’s expansive network of community shopping malls across Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and South Luzon, the program sought to leverage such footprint to aid more rural farming communities by integrating Mayani into WalterMart’s responsible, “support local” value chain.

“This team-up is a huge leap forward for our smallholder farmers not only in terms of higher rural incomes for them, but the predictability of it during these volatile times.” ~JT Solis, the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Mayani

Solis also pointed out that because of Mayani’s role as the direct platform conduit between farmers and big commercial customers such as WalterMart and other reputable retailers, the pricing of fresh produce on supermarket shelves becomes even more competitive drawing from supply chain efficiencies and lowered transaction costs.

On Palengke Fresh weekends, WalterMart Supermarket mounts a “bagsakan” market in the parking lot of WalterMart malls, thereby making it a safe and preferred shopping destination among customers.

On top of this, for the whole month of May, WalterMart is also supporting various community pantries that sprouted in different parts of Luzon. It encourages all of its shoppers to purchase the local produce in its Palengke Fresh and have them donated to different community pantries in areas where WalterMart is. For as low as ₱50, customers can get a Chopsuey Pack to uplift those grassroots communities.

WalterMart is available both online at www.waltermart.com and in-store with 39 WalterMart Supermarket branches in Luzon.

Ivana Cools Down With the Tanduay Mango Rhum

Ivana revealed that she has always been fond of Philippine mangoes, which are considered the best in the world. With mangoes cut in cubes, 30 ml of Tanduay Rhum, lime juice, sugar, salt, seltzer, and ice cubes — you can recreate Ivana’s favorite Mango Rhum.

Ivana Alawi, revealing one of her most-loved cocktail mixes using Tanduay Rhum. Among her favorites is the "Mango Rhum", which she said reminds her a lot of summers. She represents the modern Calendar Girl — strong, hardworking, has a heart for helping others, and knows when to relax and have a good time.
“I love preparing this cocktail because it’s so easy. But more than that, it tastes really great. You can have it any time of the day to give you a taste of summer. You can really taste the difference when you try out varieties from other countries. There’s something distinctly Filipino to it like the Tanduay Rhum. During these times when there’s a lot going on in the world, it’s important to be kind to others and to ourselves. Find time to chill and relax, whether by yourself or with your loved ones.” ~Ivana Alawi, Tanduay Calendar Girl 2021

All you need to do is blend the mangoes, lime juice, sugar, and salt in a blender. Once it has been properly blended, put the mixture in a glass. Add the Tanduay Rhum and stir. In another glass, put the cubes of ice then pour the mixture in. Add the seltzer, stir, and enjoy your very own Mango Rhum!

Ivana said that this cocktail mix is the perfect summer drink to have while you relax during the weekends or your virtual gatherings via Zoom with friends and colleagues.

Brant Buckley’s Nerve Damage Blues

After a career-threatening injury on the tennis court, he's playing a live-streamed set on The Bunker. It is a weekly high-quality live video streaming of original singer-songwriters and bands from Chicago and surrounding areas. Shows air every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Central time. Multicam presentation with studio-quality audio in a personal relaxed atmosphere.

Catch the livestream at

About the artist
Brant Buckley is a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting. He was born outside of Chicago (Hinsdale) and has lived in Costa Rica but spent most of his life in Philadelphia. East coast folk music and the coffeehouse scene inspired his early sound: James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Kenn Kweder, and Nick Drake. Last 2012, Buckley independently released his first album, My Life, which was featured in The Times of India (India’s CNN). He released Chicago Summer, a 3 song E.P. His song Shine had over 55,000 YouTube plays last 2015. April 1st, 2021, he released his single Don't Shoot Your Blues Away getting radio airplay on Uncle Buc Plays The Blues Show. Recently, he released his second full-length album: Times Strange.

Brant met Bluesman Jesse Graves last 2013. Graves was Philadelphia’s leading bluesman during the 1970s and played with Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt, Hound Dog Taylor, Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup, and Tom Waits. Jesse learned from Reverend Gary Davis and passed on the Blues and Native American Spirituality to Brant. In 2014, inspired by Jesse, Brant moved to Chicago to learn more about the Blues. Working as a tennis pro, Brant experienced the Blues for himself after having a career-ending tennis injury. The pain taught him what Blues are all about.

Buckley’s Chicago Blues sound is melodic, rhythmic, and haunting. He pulls heavily from his folk and spiritual background and there are hints of Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, and Son House. He is all about the power of song. In addition, Brant is a certified USPTA tennis professional and has been practicing meditation (Kriya Yoga) and energetic healing for over 10 years.

Brant has over 60 published interviews/reviews as a contributing author for The American Blues Scene. He's interviewed George Thorogood, Bobby Rush, John Hammond, John Primer, Dick Waterman, and Walter Trout to name a few.

About the song
As narrated by Brant, he relocated to Chicago as a USPTA certified teaching tennis professional. Tennis had been a huge part of his life since he was a kid. With his persistence, he landed a Proposition, teaching tennis, but unfortunately suffered an on-the-job right foot injury which abruptly ended his tennis days. Over a three-year period of pain, muscle weakness, and dejection, he lost his money, job, and was forced to sell his precious car. He was miserable. From this dark time, he wrote the song, “Nerve Damage Blues.” The lyrics in the song talk about his four-year battle with nerve pain, a lawsuit, and overcoming the injury. He had the Blues so bad he couldn’t even play the Blues and he didn’t want anything to do with anyone or anything. Looking back, the injury was an extreme blessing for him and it happened for a reason. Going through it taught him what the Blues are all about. He is thankful for the injury as it created his new musical sound. Real Blues are no joke and it’s like Son House said:
“The Blues ain’t nothing but a low down shaking chill. If you ain’t had em I hope you never will.”

Herbalife Nutrition Experts Share How to Address Inner and Outer Nutrition Needs by Age

As the body ages, it undergoes many changes and so does the nutrition it needs. While a balanced diet and an active lifestyle are important at any age, there are challenges specific for each age that need to be addressed.

In the most recent Herbalife Nutrition E-Wellness Tour, Susan Bowerman, Senior Director, Worldwide Nutrition, Education and Training of Herbalife Nutrition, and Laura Chacon-Garbato, Chairwoman of the Outer Nutrition Advisory Board of Herbalife Nutrition, shared how eating habits and lifestyle choices can affect our body and skin.

The Herbalife Nutrition E-Wellness Tour is a monthly event presented by Herbalife Nutrition Philippines with the aim of imparting nutrition education to the public through a forum with health and nutrition experts and members of the media and the blogging community.

In the April event, Bowerman and Garbato discussed the challenges that people face in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s and offered solutions on how to best address their inner and outer nutrition needs.

“When we talk about nutrition from the inside, we talk about how diet impacts every part of your body -- every organ and every cell. Everything you eat also ends up on your skin. This is why we wanted to have this inside-out approach and talk about it from both angles. You can’t have one without the other,” Bowerman said.

Establish Healthy Habits in Your 20s
While it may be challenging for people to start practicing healthy habits in their 20s as they begin to socialize and eat out more, it is important to keep in mind that eating habits at this age may affect their health in later years.

According to Bowerman, it is at this age that one should start consuming more calcium and iron.

“In your 20s, you still have the ability to put down some bone mass. You continue to accumulate bone mass until in your mid to late 20s, so getting enough calcium at this time is critically important. Iron is also important, especially for women,” Bowerman said.

She also advised against crash dieting and watching one’s alcohol calorie intake.

Garbato, meanwhile, said that prevention is important when it comes to the skin’s health in one’s 20s.

“When you’re younger, you tend to indulge a lot more. We need to remember that diet can impact the way the skin looks. There are also hormonal changes happening in the body, so there’s an excess production of oil. It’s an adjustment period for a lot of people, and lifestyle habits can really impact the way the skin looks,” Garbato said.

She advised establishing good self-care habits and avoiding the ones that can negatively impact the skin.

Eat Nutritious Meals and Exercise Regularly in Your 30s
In their 30s, most people juggle between their career and family life. They have less time to prepare balanced meals and exercise. Because of these, they find themselves putting on weight and not be able to take it off as quickly as they did when they were in high school or college.

To stay healthy, Bowerman recommended that people in their 30s make sure that they eat regular, healthy  meals and snacks. Getting organized and stocking up on nutritious staples in their homes and setting aside time for exercise will also help.

When it comes to the skin, it is in their 30s that people start seeing the first signs of aging as their hormone levels start to decrease. Stress, changes in nutrition, and lack of sleep can also have adverse effects on the skin.

This is why, Garbato said, people should be more mindful of their self-care routine.

“In our 30s, we should make sure that we’re masking, exfoliating, hydrating, and using that eye cream,” Garbato pointed out.

Re-Establish Your Health Habits in Your 40s
“If you don’t challenge your body or change your routine at all, your body doesn’t really continue to grow or develop because it becomes used to that same routine all the time,” Bowerman said.

She added that at this age, people should watch their calories -- how much they take in and how much they expend. It is also important that they pay more attention to their muscle mass.

When it comes to skin, Garbato said that it is in one’s 40s that fine lines, dryness, sunspots, and loss of firmness start to appear.

To counter these, one needs to re-evaluate their diet and exercise.

Practice Diligence and Focus in Your 50s
As their muscle mass start to decline and calorie requirements drop, people in their 50s should control stress eating. They should also eat more nutrient-dense foods and get plenty of calcium.

As with any age, having a daily skincare regimen must be prioritized and moisturizing day and night is crucial.

In closing, Bowerman and Garbato shared some advice about staying healthy at any age.

“Try to eat fruit or vegetable with every meal. It’s an easy rule to live by,” Bowerman said.

For Garbato, it’s all about consistency.
“Make sure that you are consistent with your self-care. Consistency is going to help you get through the different stages of your life and it’s going to help you age gracefully,” she said.

Unilever Says Yes to Positive Beauty. A New Era of Beauty for the People and the Planet!

Now more than ever, people are becoming more and more conscious about what they buy and consume, supporting brands that align with their values and offer products that do more good than harm. In the same way, companies and brands have been shifting to adopt the same level of responsibility when it comes to the products they offer and the messages they send to their audiences, resulting in purposeful actions that demonstrate care not just for people but also for the planet.

Unilever, one of the leading global corporations, recognizes its role in doing just that and in recent years, has been reinforcing positive action across its brands. In the Philippines, the company’s Beauty and Personal Care Category, home to beloved brands like Cream Silk, Pond’s, Lifebuoy, Closeup, and Love Beauty and Planet, to name a few, unveils its renewed purpose called Yes to Positive Beauty. This is a commitment to bring about positive change through real actions - to do more good, not just less harm, for people and the planet.

“Our new thrust, Yes to Positive Beauty, is a movement not just for us, but for all Filipinos to champion a new era of beauty and personal care that’s inclusive, equitable, and sustainable. As the number one beauty and personal care company in the country, we acknowledge the part we play in being a force for good, and Yes to Positive Beauty encompasses our commitment to do this through our brands.” ~Dorothy Dee-Ching, Unilever Philippines’ Vice President for Beauty and Personal Care

Four Steps to Positive Beauty
As the beginning of their commitment towards doing more good, Unilever Philippines identifies four key pillars of purpose:

1. Yes to health and wellbeing
After a year that has heightened the importance of health and hygiene, Unilever commits to making hygiene more accessible and affordable for all Filipino families. Partnering with the Philippine Public Health Association, Unilever, through its trusted brands Lifebuoy and Closeup, launched the Hygiene 101 Campaign, a digital information drive equipping Filipinos with 101 hygiene practices to live by.

2. Yes to equal opportunities
Pushing forward the agenda on gender equity, Unilever makes a conscientious effort to provide opportunities for Filipinos across the country. Starting in 2020, Unilever partnered with Mano Amiga and Shopee to create a grant for up to 25 microentrepreneurs to start or restart their business. The grant included not just monetary funding, but also access to training programs for skills needed to sustain their enterprise, and the Shopee marketplace to give life to their business online.

Another partnership piloted in 2020, Cream Silk has teamed up with Edukasyon.ph, the largest education technology platform in the country, to provide Filipinas with the tools they need to be ready for the next opportunity. This 2021, they launched the #ConditionedForGreater Online Academy, a series of free one-hour certificate courses aligned with skills needed to land a new job, even during a recession.

3. Yes to beauty inclusivity
As one of the top advertisers in the country, Unilever also recognizes how its brands can do their part in shifting beauty standards to combat discrimination and championing inclusion not just in their communications but also across all efforts. The company’s flagbearer for all kinds of beauty, Dove has continued to create safe spaces for all Filipinos to embrace their unique beauty. This year, Pond’s is shifting its products and campaigns to veer away from whitening, empowering Filipinas to love and care for their skin.

Just this April, Unilever also launched its very own online portal www.BeautyHub.ph, a content hub celebrating a progressive, inclusive and tolerant world, representing all types of shapes, sizes, orientations, ages, religions, and more. Your everyday beauty expert, www.BeautyHub.PH celebrates unique experiences through features and content that’s helpful, authentic, and positive.

4. Yes to sustainability
In order to reduce its environmental impact and reinforce its commitment towards more sustainable practices, Unilever has taken key steps across its personal care brands to use less or better plastic.  Unilever says yes to sustainability by saying no to bubble wrap and replacing it with sustainable eco-wrap for purchases from the E-commerce platform Shopee. The company is taking this small step as they continue working with partners to optimize their packaging and further reduce plastic use.

Saying Yes to Positive Beauty
Inviting everyone to join them in their renewed commitment, Unilever is kicking off their Yes to Positive Beauty Sale this May 17-19, 2021 with Shopee! Apart from saying yes to exciting deals and discounts from your favorite brands, like Dove, TRESemme, Cream Silk, Pond’s, St. Ives, Love Beauty and Planet, and more, you’ll be saying yes to sustainability, as Unilever will be rolling out its sustainable eco-wrap packaging for orders with five items and above.

You’ll also be saying yes to equal opportunities and supporting small businesses through Mano Amiga, an organization that creates education and development initiatives to uplift communities in need. With the proceeds from the sale, Mano Amiga will be continuing its program granting microentrepreneurs access to the necessary funds and training courses to help them start, sustain or scale their businesses.
